We here in Australia will most probably always dream of a white Christmas given that Christmas is in our Summer. The closest we came to snow were some quite large hail stones in 2011.
It certainly is the season to be jolly or silly at Christmas time and dressing up in a Christmas costume can be great fun for both adults and kids. Christmas costumes for kids can vary from anything from a Christmas hat to a full Christmas costume. Below I talk about some ways to get in the Christmas spirit with Christmas costumes for kids.

Things you will need for your Christmas Costumes for Kids:
Christmas hats are a great way to show some Christmas spirit without going overboard. You can pack them easily into a bag to take along and you can get away with the standard Christmas hat or you can try for something a little more novel.
Christmas Hats are great for:
- The family Christmas get together
- Christmas Parties
- Adding to an existing Christmas costume
Christmas costumes for kids are a popular item and kids love to add a little razzle and make Christmas as exciting as possible. Often, children are provided with an opportunity at day care, kinder or school to dress up in a Christmas costume. Check out this elf costume. If you are looking for a nativity style Christmas costume then you can find a shepherd here or a Mary costume here.
Then there is always the classic Santa costume pictured here that you can purchase just by clicking on the image. A Mrs Clause may be also required for a sibling.
Other ideas for Christmas costumes for kids are:
- Dress as a Christmas Tree
- Dress with tinsel
- Dress as other biblical characters such as the three kings
- Dress as a Christmas angel as pictured on the right (click on the image)
- Dress as a reindeer
If you really just want to keep it simple then I have some other ideas for you. It doesn’t take much to get involved; just a splash of Christmas color can sometimes be enough. Check out the Christmas Headband here. I love the idea of the reindeer nose pictured on the right or you can get y0urself some Christmas Elf Shoes here.
My last novel idea for you to consider while you are here looking to purchase a Christmas costume for kids is this pretty necklace pictured on the left. Wear this with something red or green and you can maintain an elegant Christmas look.
